Parking

Each of the two storey houses and each of the flats have a specified garage in one of the five estate garage compound areas. As parking space at Somerstown is limited, please use your driveway or garage for parking wherever possible.

There are parking spaces on the main public highway through the estate and also on private Somerstown land in two of the garage areas.

The main road through Somerstown forms part of the public highway. This road is part of a residents’ parking zone operated by Chichester District Council and there are parking restrictions in place. If you park on this road you should obtain a Council Parking Permit, which is available for an annual charge from CDC, or a Council Visitor Permit (2 Hourly).

There are some ‘Somerstown Residents Only’ parking bays in two garage compounds. Somerstown parking permits must be displayed in these bays and can be provided to owners (only) from the managing agent. (Council permits are not valid here.) Parking in front of garages is not permitted. There is a private parking management contract in operation for these areas and fines may be issued.

Some areas on the estate can become particularly congested – please park with consideration and care for neighbours.
